Islamic Azad University, Qaemshahr Branch has five faculties approved by the Ministry of Science, including agricultural sciences, natural resources, basic sciences, engineering and humanities, and the multi-purpose (educational, research, sports, welfare, and economic) complex of martyr Mohammad Belbasi as well as Sama Cultural and Educational Center.

Located in the Faculty of Agriculture at kilometer 3 of Qaemshahr-Simorgh (Kiakola) road, Martyr Belbasi multi-purpose complex covers an area of 16 hectares and includes the largest biological research institute in the north of the country, 5,000-piece educational poultry (chicken) farm, and concrete warm-water fish ponds in 10 units, as well as earthen ponds in 5 units, which are currently operating with a breeding capacity of 15,000 pieces of warm-water fish, including carp, amur and silver carp. There is also a concrete pool in the complex for raising beluga (sturgeon) in two units with a capacity of 140 sturgeons with an average weight of 8 kg. Furthermore, the complex has the potentials for breeding cold-water fish such as trout.

In addition, the martyr Belbasi Complex includes a 1600-square-meter greenhouse that produces greenhouse fruits, ornamental plants, greenhouse lime from limequat cultivar, seedlings of greenspace plants, and citrus cultivars. The complex also includes an educational, research, and production citrus garden with an area of 6000 square meters, a botanical garden, a veterinary research-educational clinic, and agricultural lands with an area of 2.5 hectares planted with rice. Martyr Belbasi Complex is a suitable and ideal place where professors can conduct their research projects and students can do their dissertations/theses.
